Featured CED VideoDisc No. 4 - Spring 1997 |
This CED illustrates the practice among caddy art work designers of using publicity stills on the rear label in lieu of actual frame enlargements from the movie itself. None of the five images shown on the rear label can actually be seen when viewing the CED. The two images on the right are stills that were never seen at any time during the movie, while the images at top left and lower left do represent actual scenes in the movie, but were shot by a still camera at a different angle than the movie camera. The left center image is the only one that appears to represent an actual frame from the movie, but since the CED is presented in the 1.33:1 pan-and-scan TV format rather than the original 1.85:1 letterbox format, this image too is never seen while viewing the CED. The table below, with the rear of the caddy in the center cell, identifies the principle characters seen in the photos with links to their entries in the Internet Movie Database.
