From: TerryTC1 Date: Sun, 6 Apr 1997 23:40:36 -0400 (EDT) To: ceds@teleport.com Subject: Subscribe to CED Digest Was an early adopter of CED format in 1981 with a Toshiba VP100 and ended up with an RCA SJT300 that still works. Also have a Hitachi player that I inherited. Would like to suscribe to the CED Digest. Thanks Terry E. To: Tom Howe <ceds@teleport.com> Date: Sun, 6 Apr 1997 22:58:15 -0500 Subject: Re: CED Digest Vol. 2 No. 14 Questions and news for the mailing list: I've come across a guy who has the leftovers from a rental store that carried CED discs. For a list of the discs I have for sale or trade, please check my web page at: http://users.hub.ofthe.net/~zachd/flea/zach/ced/sale.htm I can also send you all have/want/pickup lists via email if you don't do WWW. He also has quite a few model SJT-90 players. They are a very basic RCA model player with the tan tops and square faces and minimal features. If anyone is interested in a spare player (or two) let me know. I'd like to sell them 1 for $10, or 2 for $16 each plus shipping. Here is a question for the list. I'm also picking up some spare parts. They are in the RCA boxes, so they have part numbers on them. Does anyone know if these are just for the 90 series players, or if they will replace parts on other models as well? Here are some of the parts he has. 154216 - Stylus 157928 - Circuit 157862 - Cover 157563 - Gear 157550 - Bracket 155884 - Integrated Circuit 154243 - Motor 830022 - REsistors 157538 - Actuator If anyone is interested in those parts, I'll be selling those also. He had quite a few styluses/needles! I hope they are compatible with other model machines. That's all! I would appreciate anything that you could send me. Did all the CED collectors leave with the Hale Bopp or what??? I usually see all kinds of stuff and the last two volumes were sort of short. I recently bought the "Paul McCartney - Rock Show" CED. I still can't believe that this was a movie that was shown in theatres and elsewhere in the seventies. Didn't we have anything better to do??? While watching this, I realized that we must have had a whole lot more time on our hands to do things in those days. I enjoyed rock show but it really seemed to drag on and on...... Other than that... I really have nothing new to report. The Benji CED is still playing without the special silicon lubricant.... Neither of my CED players have died yet.... Keep faith in the CED.... Later, Dave.
