* RCA PRESS RELEASE:
Video Disc Households Owning Players Over Eight Months Now Have Average of
Almost 23 Albums, RCA Survey Shows

Americans are building inexpensive home video libraries with video discs. Those
owning disc players eight months or longer now have an average of almost 23
video disc albums, while those with players six months or longer have almost 21
albums, according to an RCA survey.

Stuart Gray, Division Vice President, Program and Market Research, RCA
"SelectaVision" VideoDiscs, said the survey showed that the average video disc
player owner expects to buy five additional albums over the next three months.

Mr. Gray said more than 90 percent of the 1,223 respondents expressed overall
satisfaction with their video disc player, a very high percentage for a new
consumer electronics product.

The survey also showed that 17 percent of the player households surveyed are
pay cable subscribers, which is slightly above the national average; and 16
percent have video cassette recorders, which is substantially higher than the
national average of 4 percent.

Mr. Gray said the findings illustrate that the video disc is compatible with
other home video products and services.

Mr. Gray said 19 percent of the sample have rented discs, and 47 percent of
them have ended up buying at least one of the discs they rented.

Does anybody out there remember when CED videodiscs were being introduced to
the public and RCA had a truck that went from mall to mall and set up a big
display of discs and TV sets playing different movies, all in mono of course.
I remember the display in Sacramento at Florin Mall just as CED was being
introduced.

Do you have any idea where to find a stylus cartridge? The player I have
seems to need one.
Thanks

My RCA SFT 100 played just fine until I took the stylus out to look at it. Now
the playback drops in and out...slowly.

Also, where can I order new stylus's?

Hello All:

For those of you in Oregon and Southwest Washington, I'm going to be on the
KPTV (Channel 12) Good Day Oregon Show on Monday, February 4. This is not going
to be about CED, but about the history of the personal computer and computer
geekdom in general. But since it's being broadcast from a room in my home that
is literally wall-to-wall CED's, it will be unavoidable to see them in the
background, and given the opportunity, I'll put in a CED plug. The segments
I'll be in should air at approximately 6:50, 7:50, and 8:50 am.
