RCA PFR100 Front Projection Television |
In addition to releasing the CED system in 1981, RCA also introduced their first front projection color television, the PFR100. This model retailed at $3,199.95 and featured a 50" screen and stereo sound capability via an integral four speaker system. RCA followed this with the nearly identical PGR100 model in 1982, which was the last front projection unit. In 1983 the company switched to rear projection televisions.
