Memories of VideoDisc - Who's Who in VideoDisc |
Arthur H. Firester received a B.A. degree, cum laude, with
Honors in Physics from Brandeis University in 1962, and an M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from Princeton University in 1964 and 1967, respectively. His doctoral dissertation was based upon research performed on the modulation of light by optically pumped alkalai metal vapors. Before joining the staff of RCA Laboratories, he held the position of Instructor on the faculty of Princeton University for the academic year 1966-67. His recent research has been in the area of nonlinear optical phenomena and their possible application to image processing, and coherent light optical problems and holography.
Dr. Firester is a member of The Society of Sigma Xi and the American Physical Society, the Optical Society of America, and the IEEE.
