Michael Kaplan joined RCA Laboratories in 1965 after receiving his Ph.D. in Chemical Physics from Columbia University. His career at RCA has been heavily involved in developing new materials for the micro-recording of information, including material for laser ablation, VideoDisc mastering with electron beams, and optical, X-Ray, and electron-beam lithography, fields in which he has published over 15 papers and for which he holds about 10 patents.
