Charlie Wine authored the assembly code stored in the Mostek 3870 system control microprocessor of the F/G line of CED players. He also worked on the microcomputer code of the J/K line.

Charles Wine, since coming to RCA laboratories in 1959, has been involved in work in a wide variety of projects. He has 26 patents and has received five RCA Laboratories Achievement Awards. He was also part of the team that was honored by the 1980 David Sarnoff award for outstanding achievement for the ChanneLock TV tuning system. He is now a Fellow of Technical Staff at the David Sarnoff Research Center, working in the area of advanced consumer products.

In 1984, Dr. William M. Webster announced the RCA Laboratories Outstanding Achievement Awards for contributions to electronics research and engineering during 1983. Charles Wine received this award for contributions to the development of the first CED random-access interactive VideoDisc player.
