RCA Press Release for August 26, 1981 |
Appointment of Alan J. Blumenthal as a director of advertising for RCA "SelectaVision" VideoDiscs was announced today by Howard M. Ballon, director, market planning.
In his new capacity, Mr. Blumenthal will be responsible for development of advertising campaigns for video discs, as well as creation of point-of-purchase materials and coordination of all activities with the outside advertising agency.
Prior to joining RCA, he was an account supervisor with the William Esty Company, working on the Mastercard International account. Before that, he was with Wells, Rich, Greene, Inc. as account supervisor on the New York State Department of Commerce "I Love New York" campaign.
From 1971 to 1979, he held a number of advertising and marketing positions with American Express Company, most recently as senior product manager on the American Express Card "Don't Leave Home Without It" campaign.
A native of Teaneck, N. J., Mr. Blumenthal holds a B.A. degree from Rutgers University and an M.B.A. from New York University Graduate School of Business.
